Whitney Houston’s Funeral – What is death?

Today is the funeral for Whitney Houston.  Houston’s body will be laid to rest, but what happened to the spiritual body or soul of Whitney?

Many people wonder what happens after we die. In the last 30 years, more and more reports are being written about people who have had near death experiences. For the most part, there are many common images: friends and family are there to greet them, everything is light as if in bright sunlight, and the feeling of love permeates everything. No one wants to come back to Earth and many feel disappointed that they had to return.

But what happens next? Last summer I stumbled upon an old book which gave a completely different perspective of death. This was a communication to our world from a famous journalist who had passed away on the Titanic. This old book wasn’t the easiest to read. Every sentence seemed to be a run-on sentence and I had to look up many words I didn’t know. But the message the book held was wonderful! I was so impressed with it, that I re-wrote the book to share with the world. I took out all of the confusing language and added at least a thousand periods. I kept the voice of the original author so you could feel his experiences as he shared them. The book is available to you now as a Kindle book through Amazon: “Titanic: The Dead Survived.”

So what does this have to do with Whitney Houston? The unique perspective this book carries is that whenever someone dies in an unexpected accident or through another tragedy, the next stage of their life is a beautiful place of healing.  This place might be compared to a re-hab center where there are counselors to guide and plenty of time for self reflection and rest.  There are also opportunities for continued learning.

The book shares these points:

  1. Sudden unexpected deaths all go to a healing place.
  2. Prayers from the living help the departed souls to heal.
  3. Healing takes time and the pace is not the same for each soul.
  4. Once the souls have begun the healing process, they may wish to communicate with the living.
  5. Not all souls will communicate with the living.
  6. Death is similar to removing a jacket, you are in the body one second and out of it the next second.

So for Whitney, we can know that she is now in a place of healing, a place where she has time to heal all of the wounds which drove her to use drugs and alcohol. And when she is fully healed, she will move on to the next stage of life.

If you are curious about what happens after the physical death of the body, from the perspective of a person who has died, visit Amazon and download the Kindle book: “Titanic: The Dead Survived.” I added a study guide to the book so that you can discuss different ideas presented in the book with other people. If you don’t have a Kindle, Amazon provides software so all Kindle books can be read on almost any electronic device.

Drop me a line and let me know how you liked the book or whether it challenged some of your beliefs.

Enjoy!
